Mr. Schmoker was born and raised in East Texas and began his career at Mecanica Scientific in 2017, joining with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas, Tyler. Mr. Schmoker has a long-time interest in automobiles, served as a suspension lead on his SAE Baja senior design project, and has three years of experience as an apprentice level technician which included a major Mercedes-Benz dealership near Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Schmoker is a Research Engineer at Mecanica Scientific Services Corp. consulting in the analysis and reconstruction of collisions involving automobiles, tractor-trailers, trucks, motorcycles, motorcoaches, bicycles and pedestrians. This includes rollovers and underride/override type collisions. Mr. Schmoker performs reconstructions, simulations, analytical representation of data, and investigates automotive mechanical components and mechanical systems, including: brakes, suspensions, powertrains, bearings, engines and drivetrains. He also evaluates advanced vehicle technologies, vehicle dynamics and performance, and vehicle systems that require data imaging (download) and analysis of data from passenger and commercial vehicle Event Data Recorders (EDRs).

Mr. Schmoker participates in escalated responses to major transportation collisions in order to collect, document and analyze physical evidence pertaining to the incident. His certification include the following:

  • Accredited Traffic Accident Reconstructionist
  • SAE International’s Accident Reconstruction Certificate
  • Berla Corporation’s Vehicle System Forensic Technician and Examiner Certifications
  • DOT FAA – 14 CFR Part 107 Certified sUAS Pilot
  • NCEES’s Fundamentals of Engineering
